How will joining ChooseYourMail help reduce the amount of junk mail I receive?
By joining Chooseyourmail.co.uk you decide which subjects you are happy to receive information on. We will only pass your details to the reputable companies and organisations shown next to each category. You can see who these companies are by clicking on the question mark icon next to each category. In order to reduce the mail you do not want to receive (junk mail) we recommend you register with the Mailing Preference Service (MPS) which is a free service set up to stop unwanted mail. Any reputable company will not mail you if you are on the MPS.
If I register with the Mailing Preference Service does that mean I will not receive the offers I have chosen on Chooseyourmail?
No. By joining Chooseyourmail you are giving us the authority to pass your details to companies within the categories you have selected. Even if you are registered with the MPS you can still receive information from companies where you have given consent. However, by registering with the MPS you will greatly reduce the amount of unwanted mail you receive.
How long will it take for the amount of junk mail I recieve to reduce?
Companies prepare their mailings months in advance, therefore it can take up to four months for the service to be fully effective. However you should notice a gradual reduction in the amount of unsolicited mail you receive.
Which companies and organisations will contact me?
By selecting sub-categories, you are authorising the companies shown alongside these (depicted by the question mark icon) to contact you. However, you will not necessarily be contacted by some or all of these companies, although it is likely one or more will contact you in the near future.
How long will it take for me to receive the offers I want?
It will depend on the categories you have selected. However, it is likely you will receive information between one and three months from sign up.
How can I reduce the amount of telephone sales calls I receive?
If you are receiving unwanted telephone sales calls you can reduce these by registering with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) which is a free service. If you have selected categories on ChooseYourMail to be contacted by telephone registering with the TPS will not affect these but will reduce calls from the categories you have not selected. To register with the TPS click here.
What happens to my personal details?
Full details of our privacy policy are within the Terms and Conditions. By registering with Chooseyourmail.co.uk you are authorising us to pass your details to the companies shown alongside the categories you have selected. We will not pass your details to any other organisations without your consent. In other words, if you have not selected a category and you are registered with the Mailing Preference Service (MPS), you will not be contacted by any of the companies associated with that category.
If I no longer wish to receive information on a particular category what must I do?
You can change your preferences at any time by logging in and selecting ‘Edit Preferences’. You can then de-select the appropriate category/sub-category. Although these changes will be activated immediately, please note that as mailings are planned well in advance, it is possible you may still be contacted for a period of up to 4 months by some organisations.
I cannot remember my password. What must I do?
